Hernan doesn't spend much time in the water. He takes about an hour, since he figured Scott could use some time to even out, but once that hour is up, he makes his way inside and changes with a decent amount of speed. He also packs a small bag with a couple of changes of clothes; something nicer than what he currently had.

Done, he makes his way over to Scott and leans down to press a kiss to his lips.

"I am done. Ready to go?"

Spit out I told you so.

What was actually spit out confused him and it showed. He blinked a few times in rapid succession.

"...should I have feelings about the X-men? I don't have feelings about the X-men. They mostly don't blow things up that don't need blown up."

"My trip was with their leader," he explained simply enough. He took a long pull from his drink, finishing it.

"He has returned to his base, and so I return to mine. That is what I'm doing back."

"All right...." He wasn't jealous, and hey, have a good time Hernan but. "You aren't going to do it are you? You aren't going to tell me you were right."

"Will you feel better if I do?"

And that right there is the 50,000,000 dollar question, now, isn't it?

"...Yes."

[verdad_y_justicia]

"Fine."

He straightens up on his feet and makes his way over to Kirk because he's doing this right.

"Magnus was un hijo de la gran puta! An asshole. He did not deserve your Tina, he did not deserve your heart. He deserved to have his balls chopped off and his body dropped in a ditch years ago if only for the piece of shit way he treated both of you. The only way he fooled you with that robot made to be your friend is because you are too kind hearted to ever believe someone would do such a thing!"

He reached over and grabbed Kirk by the front of the shirt and lifted him to the air with surprising delicacy.

"Do you feel better?"

"No."

HE was surprisingly calm given that he was dangling. "That isn't... what I meant at all."

Drop.

"Then what did you mean?"

...no shame. If Kirk didn't want all that, well...

Um. Yeah, he's just going with no shame. Kirk should specify.

"I meant that you should tell me I was stupid and should have seen it years ago."

[verdad_y_justicia]

He looked at Kirk for a moment before shaking his head, letting go and stepping back.

"No. You were not stupid.

"You were kind. The fault is at their feet. Not yours."

[lovedtwopeople]

"Stop that," he snapped, and turned back vaguely toward his computer. "I was stupid. I could have stopped this all if I hadn't been."

He was going to have to stop trusting people completely. Had to. Never worked out well. Always led to piles of bodies and awfulness.

His hand landed on Kirk's shoulder. No squeeze. No hold. But he wasn't moving.

"What? If you hadn't loved? You think giving up on such things is the way to be safe?"

He snorted, hard, and shook his head.

"It's death. And you are many things, Kirk, but you are not actually undead."

He stepped back out from under the hand after a split second, moving fast and then looking Hernan square in the eye. "I'm thinking I have shit taste in picking friends."

Wait, that came out insulting. "Or seeing what's right in my face."

Not better.

"It's not you."

Now he's wondering--

No, he shouldn't wonder. He shouldn't wonder. That's a bad idea.

"You are not to blame for their actions. If blame is to come to anyone, it should be me."

"Why would it be your fault?"

[verdad_y_justicia]

He pointed right at Kirk.

"You did not know he was a bastard." A thumb slung back at himself "I did. I should have killed him before he caused so much suffering."

"So what? I'd have no friends? Yes, Hernan, that would have been incredibly helpful."

[verdad_y_justicia]

He snorted.

"You do not have no friends."

He breathed in deep.

"And to be fair, they are both lost to you now, along with any number of people dead as well. I would have saved you pain. And you could have been angry at someone you do not love."

"I would have had no friends if you'd killed him while I still thought he was one!"

He... didn't know how he felt about Hernan just at the moment, actually. Mostly because he was so fucked in other ways. And whatever he felt wasn't like what he'd felt for the two people he thought he'd loved and -

He was really not emotionally well developed.

"But all your memories, your happiness, would not pain you," he said softly.

"It would have been worth it."

He considered but then went to Hernan and looked at him for a moment. "We're both idiots."

"All of us but Bekka."

So what else is new?

He reached out this time and touched Hernan's face. "Tell me about your X-man."

[verdad_y_justicia]

He looked up at that, but otherwise didn't move. Not with Kirk's hand on his face. Not when moving was... a bad idea. He would do something he shouldn't do.

"His name is Scott. He is known as Cyclops. There is probably much on the internet about him, I have no doubt. They are, if anything, more controversial than we are."

"They used to be controversial. Now, I'd say hated." He wasn't overly fussed. HE kept his hand there another moment, then took one, big step back and stopped touching. He... didn't know what he actually wanted to do. Except he did. And didn't trust it. Give him another week or three.
