'Standard' is still leagues and bounds better than what he's capable of, and he can't help being torn between the delicious breakfast and his gorgeous girlfriend for a minute or two. He does decide, though, digging into the food (since it'll get cold and Justine will be gorgeous after he eats it) and he offers an enthusiastic thumbs up.
Justine would snack while she cooked and because of that, she never ate very much. She had placed a bowl of fruit at the center of the table and was now picking off a grape and slowly pushing it between her lips. Justine had a weakness for fruit.
"Good morning." Her voice was soft, warm and affectionate as she took a second grape.
She liked watching him do most things but first thing in the morning or late at night were her favorite times. It was when they could be alone and enjoy each other's company without having to put on a show for those around them. "Hungry?" She asks softly, knowing full well that the word has two meanings for him.
And Thomas has had a weakness for Justine for quite some time. Her weakness for fruit was just one of the many reasons. The hunger doesn't show on his face as she enjoys that very lucky bit of fruit, because that was rude, but there is a faint shine to his eyes that he can't help when he looks at her.
"A little. The food's doing a damn good job on it, though."
Justine knew that Thomas fought with his demon. It was a part of himself that he never fully trusted or like but it was also a part of him, which meant that Justine couldn't bring herself to hate it. She loved him and while the words were forever unspoken, it didn't make it less true.
"I'm glad you like it. I am always happy to cook for you." Only for him.
She leaned forward as he reached for her, gently brushing her fingers against his. For now, she could touch him though Justine knew that it wouldn't be able to last.
