Woof Woof

Clark does not have a tail (in this form, anyway), but if he did, that tail would be tucked between his legs. It's not long since he watched his parents drive off, Ma and Pa Kent, the pillars which have kept him grounded his entire life.

The decision to come here, to go to a private school, had been something that had taken some discussion. For one, it was the alma mater of his birth parents, a fact that Jonathan Kent had thought extremely important to allow Clark to experience as a connection to them despite the fact that they were gone. He'd watched Clark grow up, feeling like a sore thumb, feeling like he had so little connection to the people who'd made him, that like hell was he going to skip out on this opportunity.

The fact that said birth parents had actually left his full tuition payment with the school at his birth, before their passing, had also been a factor in the decision; the education at Northwoods University was second to none, and while they'd hemmed and hawed about Clark's academics, the fact of the matter was that he'd excel at Northwoods just as well as he had in Smallville and be quite a bit more effective with his smarts than he'd ever have been at KSU. If he wanted to write for the Daily Planet, he'd have a much better chance to meet the movers and the shakers who'd get him there at Northwoods.

Which is why he's here. And his parents are driving off. And he's trying his very best not to freak out and howl at the feeling of being alone for the first time in his entire life. That is, until his nose picks up a scent that he never expected.

...another wolf?

Another wolf!

Bruce does not want to be here, resisted being here, and may or may not plan on leaving here as soon as he possibly can -- and not to go back home. The scent of another wolf as he approaches means he comes in with his hackles already up a bit (metaphorically), but there's no outward aggression.

Plenty of overt, outward signs of wealth in what he's wearing and how he carries himself, though.

He doesn't want to be away from home, he definitely doesn't want anything to do with another damn wolf. That's pure threat (and curiosity he tries to ignore) in his mind.

"You're Clark Kent."

What? He got an email.

Bruce is here under the strong suggestion of Alfred primarily to socialize - and, Alfred hopes, encounter another wolf or two so some of the deep seated mistrust and self-loathing will fade.

It isn't a bad plan, clearly, given that he's roomed with another wolf, and one with a steadily non-threatening presence at that. It's... already conflicting in Bruce. He does not trust or want anything to do with a werewolf of any sort, and that includes himself.

And yet.

"I haven't seen it, though I'm certainly my things will have been moved in by the time we've made it there. Do you want to go now or take a walk first?"

That's... forward and implies a level of social that doesn't come naturally, and he hasn't yet practiced and polished. Curiosity, though, is a hell of a motivator even if it is partially motivated and he's still sharp edges and hackles.

In contrast, Bruce has a sort of... native grace that he can disguise or alter, but only with effort. He is, basically, slinky.

He puts his hands in his pockets and stares at Clark for a moment then sighs, almost inaudibly. "I'm sure we will and I cannot imagine how that is going to go in the long term, but let's see what we can find out about the campus and for food before we lock ourselves in a confined space together."
